More than 130 businesses from across South Australia will come together today for the First Nations Business Showcase (SA) 2023, presented by The Circle - First Nations Entrepreneur Hub and opened by the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Attorney-General, Kyam Maher MLC.
Kicking off Indigenous Business Month, the Showcase provides a unique platform to celebrate the South Australian First Nations business sector, its diversity and capability – a sector underpinned by thousands of years of trade and commerce experience.
Buyers from industry, government and not-for-profit organisations will connect face-to-face with First Nations entrepreneurs in sectors such as ICT, health, tourism, creative industries, native produce, construction, and more.
This year, the Showcase features a Creative Corridor, where visitors will experience the vibrancy and ingenuity of First Nations creatives, artists, makers and retailers, with the opportunity to purchase items. While singer songwriter, James Butler will compose a song on the day to perform at the event’s close.
Attendees will have the opportunity to network, leading to future collaborations, business opportunities and avenues for growth. In 2022, nearly 100 First Nations businesses forged connections and discussed their journeys, expertise, products and services with 1,200 registered attendees.
The Showcase will take place at Goyder Pavilion, Wayville Showgrounds; with industry, government and non-government organisations encouraged to join at their convenience between 10 am to 3 pm.
The Circle - First Nations Entrepreneur Hub, based at Lot Fourteen, is funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency in partnership with the South Australian Government.
