The recently redeveloped Normanville Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) has this weekend reopened its doors to the public at the perfect time for thousands to make their way to the Fleurieu Peninsula ahead of the Christmas and New Year period.

The more than $7 million redevelopment of the clubrooms, together with a commercial café/kiosk under one roof, has been funded through a State Government partnership with the District Council of Yankalilla and the Normanville SLSC.

Visitors to the club will be able to enjoy the full benefits of the new facilities, with the rebuild resulting in greater amenity and additional safety for beachgoers.

A new access ramp from the to the beach and a relocated first aid room will support quicker emergency responses with improved beach and ambulance accessibility.

In March the club will host its first major Surf Life Saving event following the rebuild, as the Masters State Championships take place in Normanville.

The bar will be open from midday Saturday and 11:30am Sunday, with the club opening its kitchen for dinner service Saturday and lunch on Sunday.
