South Australia’s small businesses contribute an incredible $49 billion to our state’s economy, with SA’s food and wine generating $24 billion and fisheries and aquaculture sectors last year alone generating $406 million.

With South Australians set to spend millions this Christmas season, the Malinauskas Government is encouraging people to invest that back into our state and support local businesses and primary producers.

The Malinauskas Government is investing $14 million to support our state’s small businesses with our landmark Small Business Strategy. The Strategy contains 20 practical initiatives designed to support South Australia’s 150,000 small businesses to grow and succeed.

Choosing a wider variety of local seafood helps support sustainability in SA’s fisheries, which has seen prices remain about the same as last year with the opportunity to delivery supplies fresh from local waters right up to Christmas Day.

Exploring our award-winning wine regions is also a fantastic way to spend a day or two during the summer holidays with the state boasting 700 wineries and more than 340 cellar doors.

Following extreme weather events, South Australians are being encouraged to support our primary producers by buying local this Christmas season.
