Legislation has been introduced to Parliament to exempt all businesses with payrolls less than $1.5m from payroll tax from 1 January 2019.

More productive infrastructure

Representations have been made to the Federal Government regarding infrastructure funding for major projects including completion of the North-South corridor and an overpass at Highway 1-Copper Coast Highway intersection, Port Wakefield. 

Shop trading hours

Legislation will be introduced to Parliament in July to extend shop trading hours to allow businesses to open, South Australians to work and consumers to buy what they want, when they want.

The process to establish a new Technical College in the western suburbs has commenced. This important initiative will provide young South Australians with more opportunities to secure an apprenticeship or traineeship.

The process to establish Glenthorne National Park and open up reservoirs for recreational activities has been initiated. Key progress to date includes the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the State Government and the University of Adelaide as a major step in the transfer of Glenthorne Farm to State Government ownership.
