Opposition Leader Steven Marshall must come out of hiding today and reveal details of his travel expenses for this parliamentary term.

The State Government supports moves to require councils to publish details relating to travel expenses. This is in line with government ministers proactively disclosing details of travel expenses during this parliamentary term.

However, Mr Marshall has so far refused to reveal details of his travel expenses as Opposition Leader.

If Mr Marshall does not release details of his own travel expenses today, he must explain why he expects the Premier, government ministers and local councils to reveal their expenses, but not himself.

Mr Marshall’s office has an annual budget of $1.5 million, and he has taken numerous taxpayer-funded overseas trips to Europe, the United States, Asia and New Zealand throughout this term, yet he has provided the public with no details of his travel expenses.

Quotes attributable to Transport and Infrastructure Minister Stephen Mullighan

Steven Marshall spends of lot of time talking about transparency and accountability, but it’s a case of do as I say, not as I do.

He must come out of hiding today and agree to publicly reveal his travel expenses.
