More new affordable homes are now available for sale in Adelaide’s south, giving low to moderate income earners the chance to buy their own home.
Part of the State Government’s Affordable Housing Initiative (AHI), the 19 new affordable homes in Seacombe Gardens are now available to eligible buyers on the HomeSeeker SA website.
Built by Bradford Projects by Scott Salisbury, the development is the latest from the AHI, creating housing across South Australia priced so that mortgage rates are no more than 30 per cent of weekly household income.
The homes are all two-bedroom two-storey townhouses and are expected to be built by June 2024.
The listing prices for these houses range between $485,000-$540,000, far below the current median property price for Seacombe Gardens of $674,000.
Eligible applicants accessing HomeStart Finance’s innovative lending product Shared Equity could secure these homes for between $363,750 and $405,000.
Shared Equity allows people to partner with HomeStart to get into the housing market, with HomeStart contributing up to 25 per cent of the purchase price of a property.

This development is within walking distance to the local primary schools (Stella Maris Parish School and Darlington Primary Schools), Seaview High School, and Marion Shopping centre.
Quality affordable homes like these in such a desirable location are extremely rare, so I would encourage anyone looking for a home of their own to head to HomeSeeker SA and check your eligibility.
